Biography :

Kate M. Simonds joined Phegley Law Offices as an associate attorney in 2010 after serving as a law clerk for the firm during her last two years of law school. Attorney Simonds is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law. She brings a wide array of experiences to the firm.

During law school, Attorney Simonds served as an extern for Racine County Circuit Court Chief Judge Gerald Ptacek as well as a law clerk for the Racine County Child Support Agency. She was an active member of the Family Law Society and President of the Animal Law Society. Attorney Simonds is one of only two attorneys in Wisconsin specializing in Equine Law issues. She focuses her practice on family law, criminal law, equine law, wills and estate planning.

Attorney Simonds graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lake Erie College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Equine Science. As part of her undergraduate studies she was a research assistant for a death penalty expert and worked on the defense of many felony criminal and death penalty cases.
