KELLY J. HECKEL

Biography :

Attorney Kelly J. Heckel joined Phegley Law Offices LLC in 2019 bringing a wide array of experiences to the firm. After graduating from Marquette University Law School in 2010, Attorney Heckel started her career as a prosecutor for the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office. In 2012, she opened her own law office specializing in criminal defense, but shortly thereafter expanded her field of practice to include divorce, custody and placement, post-judgment matters, guardianships, simple wills, and civil law. In 2016, Attorney Heckel joined Racine County Child Support as an enforcement and paternity attorney, while maintaining her private law practice.

During her career, Attorney Heckel has represented clients charged with traffic, misdemeanor, and felony offenses throughout the various stages of the case. She knows the value of effective negotiation in family law matters and has taken a collaborative style approach to divorces, working with her client and their spouse to find long term solutions both parties can agree to. She has also fought hard to help parents in custody and placement battles. Attorney Heckel always provides the best representation possible for her clients by combining a compassionate, zealous and common sense approach.

Attorney Heckel received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from UW-Parkside in 2007. She obtained her Masters in Criminal Justice from UW-Platteville in 2016. She currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Carthage College teaching courses in Criminal Law and American Courts. Attorney Heckel grew up in Somers in Kenosha County and is a graduate of Bradford High School. She currently resides in Racine County.
